TAI SHAN’S CORNER

Tai Shan, the adorable Panda who has delighted millions of cam viewers these past four years, has gone to his new home at the Bifengxia Panda Base in Ya'an, China, Villa #1. He will take his place in the Giant Panda conservation program. He will also continue his work as an Ambassador of his species, reminding humans that they are the caretakers of this Planet Earth and of the animals who share it with us. You can read more about it at the National Zoo's website.

Mei Lan, the Atlanta Beauty, went to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding Center in Chengdu, China. She will be given a language tutor to help her acclimate to her new environment. Obviously the Giant Pandas are cherished in their homeland and will be cared for well. You can still watch Mei Lan's little brother Xi Lan on the Zoo Atlanta Panda Cam.

Su Lin, the California Girl, is still at the San Diego Zoo. You can catch all the California Pandas on the San Diego Zoo Panda Cam.

Who's that handsome fella?
